In Marketing Operations, it's so so easy to get buried in endless Slack messages and it's twice as bad if you're on the consulting side š
Handy Tricks
Here's 4 of my favorite tricks to keep my Slack mostly under control:
š Use Sections to bucket contacts and channels so when a notification comes through, you can tell at a glance how important/urgent it is likely to be
š Get comfortable sending a quick "Hey I saw your message and I'll send a more detailed response by TIME/DATE" to help manage expectations
š Use Reminders to make sure you don't forget to send that detailed response
š When responding, think through whether a written response actually is the best response or a video recording, voice note or quick 15 min sync are more efficient and/or more effective in terms of helping folks understand and digest your response
